TGIS?

We are finally at the end of a very long week.  Working until Saturday is not a good thing for the students or the teachers.  By Friday we are already starting to speak like ESL students, by Saturday it is really bad.  I actually said “somes” in a sentence in class.  It was super embarrassing on my part but none of the students seemed to notice, since this sounds normal to them. 

                Wednesday was the first day of Autumn festival, so the students were pretty excited to tell me all about it.  They tried to teach me how to say some names and words in Chinese and apparently my accent is hilarious to them.  A few of them gave me moon cake as well to celebrate the holiday, it’s very “delicious”  As is everything else that is good. 

                We had the Terry fox run yesterday.  We just ran around the school compound, so it was a short fun.  I beat a bunch of my students, which was pretty funny.  The boys forgot that I run all the time and were shocked as I ran past them.  We had been teaching them all about Terry Fox for the past week, just as they would if they were in BC so a lot of them were pretty excited for the run. 

                We had to do interm report cards this week as well.  So not only did we have to work an extra day, but we had extra work to do as well.  So let’s just say that this week vacation for autumn festival is much needed.  Sanya is said to be the Hawaii of China.  A bunch of my students actually wrote about Sanya in their essays and it sounds like a great place to go relax and swim.  The weather is calling for thundershowers though…so hopefully that doesn’t happen :S  I would not be impressed.  All I need to do is swim around the pool for a bit and that will satisfy my craving to be in the water.  As much as I like to say I’m glad I’m not working at the pool, I miss being in the pool!  Especially in a place like this where the humidity is absolutely awful. 

                Anyways, it is late here and I’m just anxious to leave tomorrow so I can’t really sleep.  Haha, I’ll go pack and finish the piles of essays I have to mark :S  This is why I want to be a math/pe teacher!  Bah!  I will update when I get back in a week!!!
